Busy Bee

This morning, after practicing pulling up on my hands about 99 times, Lillianna was ready to sit and play. She hadn't seen these toys in a couple of days and boy she was excited to see them!

"Where is that one block with the purple top and the round thingy inside?"

"Eureka! I found it!"

(Actually, in this picture I flipped the camera screen around so that she could see herself in it. So she's smiling at herself that big!)

Yesterday was another scorcher but we made the most of it by going to the park with friends. The swings were a hit once again. I think Lillianna looks like a trapeze artist or Tinkerbell.

I didn't know there was such a thing as blog tag but there is and I'm it!

1. Five minutes to yourself: how would you spend them, ideally?
Depending on the time of day, I'd have either a cup of coffee, a glass of lemonade, or a glass of wine and just sit outside on a beautiful day.

On some feally fun beauty product at Walgreens that I never buy like nail polish, a funky hair clip, or a facial mask.

3. Five items in your house you could part with, right now, that you hadn't thought of already?
the cat's litter box, the deer meat in the freezer Brad wants me to cook, all 551 plastic stadium cups, the piles of paper in the office, and the tv remotes that don't do anything.

4. Five items you absolutely, positively could never part with in your house?
photo albums, tweezers, the rocking chair in the nursery, music (radio, cds), the one tv remote that seems to do everything.

5. Five words you love?
lollipop, lavendar, juice, extravagant, love

Now, the problem is I'm so new at blogging that I don't know any other bloggers to tag, except you iMollie so just like I used do with my sisters...I tag you back! (You didn't say "no tagbacks")

SATURDAY!!

I also wanted to share that today was a great Saturday because it felt like a Saturday all day long. I havn't had one of those in a very long time. First, thanks to my sweet husband, I got to sleep until 7:45! Then, I had coffee sitting outside with him and Lillianna. Then we just lounged and did NOTHING during her first nap, only to be extremely productive outside when she woke up. I actually planted flowers and Brad cleaned the pool. What was Little One doing? She was actually content in the pack in play!!! Brad's dream finally came true! She sits and plays while we get stuff done!! We had a full 25 minutes of contentment which was very dreamy.

Now I just have to share these pictures beacuse they are so darn cute! She is loving the pool...her pool that is. Our sweet friend Meredith gave us this pool since her daughter Lydia has a bigger one this year. Lillianna loves it! She is very happy to just play and splash.

Baby birds

This is Mama Robin, outside on our front porch. She just became a Mom last week when 3 little ones hatched (that's the top of a tiny head peeping out). I think it's appropriate that she and I are sharing the same house these days as we spend our days doing much of the same things. Now that her little ones are here, she doesn't get to sleep in her nest...which I assume means her sleeping has been affected. Second, she spends most of her day gathering food, feeding them, or making sure they don't hurt themselves. Third, she has to chew the food she brings the babies into bits they can handle. The first two I've been experiencing for 8 months now but just the past two weeks I too am chewing, nibbling, breaking, or pinching bite size pieces of bread, crackers, peaches, oranges, bananas, beans, or anything yummy for Lillianna to eat. this next picture is of one of the baby birds after the Mama left...obviously still hungry.

That's the same face Lillianna gives me when I get up to find something else in the fridge to feed her.

It's like bathtime except I'm sitting on a diaper that weighs as much as I do!

Today was a pretty uneventful except that it was 90 degrees with no breeze and no fun to sit outside. So this afternoon we jumped on the invitation from our friends, Meredith & Lydia, to join them in the baby pool. The little girls did all the swimming but I felt cooler just watching them. It was officially Lillianna's first time in a pool and also the first in a bathing suit...I wish my bathing suits still looked that cute on me! She really had a ball and didn't seem to mind that her diaper was so full of water it was hanging out of her suit. How fun that we have a whole summer ahead of fun days in the pool!! yea!

Easter in Collierville

On Saturday, we hit the highway for Collierville, Tennessee to spend Easter with the Millers. Lillianna was very popular among her three precious cousins, Ella, Daisy & Leah who were very sweet and gentle with her. We got to swing, east outside, play with exciting new toys, and had atleast six easter egg hunts! What a great first Easter! We had a wonderful time and can't wait to see them again soon!!

Hoppy Easter!

Last Friday, Lillianna and I met Mary Bibb, Ginny, Mary Bibb's great-grandmother and the Easter Bunny for a photo shoot. Actually, the Easter Bunny was visiting residents at a near-by assisted living home and we decided to visit as well.

Then Lillianna and Mary Bibb took turns looking for the egg in front of them.
This time Lillianna won.










Hi Easter Bunny! Surprisingly, Lillianna wasn't the least big scared of the giant bunny wearing a jelly bean vest. In fact, she seemd to like him and his big furry paws.

Spring is in full swing

What a beautiful afternoon! Mary Bibb and Lillianna enjoyed the swings (or swing) at Rhodes Ferry Park on this lovely day. Not sure that the swing was meant for two but it was perfect for these two - they loved it!





Lillianna loves to be outside and loves the wind so swinging is perfect! And to have a friend to enjoy it with...what could be better?








After swinging, a little stroll along the river. Mary Bibb is excited to see her toes.

Bluegrass Baby

We made it! The car ride was long but we made it back from a great trip up to Central Kentucky this weekend. Lillianna seemed to enjoy the change of scenery, excitement, and of course, getting to see family. She spent some great quality time with grandparents, Dandy and Wil, and got lots of hugs and kisses from Aunt Corky and Uncle John Eric. She might have had the best time laughing at Napolean who gave the best kisses of all. We all had a great time!

Now this picture was taken yesterday during lunch. No, she is not crying, sneezing, or about to throw up. This is her new excited face! She is breathing in and out of her nose, very fast, arms in the air, just excited. She does it alot now. Its evolved from the mouth open panting she does. It's pretty funny but even funnier when she gets her parents do it with her.

"What's so funny Mary Bibb?" Before lunch, Lillianna and Mary Bibb had some play time at Mary Bibb's grandmother's house. Mary Bibb was all smiles but Lillianna wasn't given too many away today. She's been a little grumpy the past two days. More pearly whites coming in? Maybe. Or maybe she just can't wait to go on her big roadtrip up to Kentucky tomorrow.





Mmmm....mandarin oranges are yummy! Mary Bibb shared some oranges with her at lunch and while she wasn't so sure about the texture at
first, she soon decided she loved them!

I know you're there

This picture is the perfect example of one of Lillianna's exciting new milestones: object permenance. She is looking for me behind the camera - she knows i'm back there and didn't just disappear! Brad and I have been hiding behind doorways and she'll crane her little neck to try and see us.

Another irresistible new something is her new dance. It's actually her first dance and it's so cute. Whenever we sing or sometimes when she hears music, she shakes her head back and forth, as if she's saying no. She opens her mouth wide and smiles and shakes her head like the rhythm has overcome her. I knew she had it in her!

Learning to Share

I was inspired to blog by another young mom and thought it was a great way to share my life with those I love. Since I live away from all my family and many of my friends, I hope this will be another way to connect and invite you into my daily life. I am learning so much about myself these days, primarily through my precious baby, Lillianna. I hope to teach her many things in life, one of those being the gift of sharing. Hopefully, in this blog I will learn to share a little more too.
